Pilates Magic Circle

By Christina | October 6, 2007

There is always someone waiting to bring a new piece of equipment to the fitness arena, especially if the product can piggy back on another already succesful program, like Pilates.  The Pilates Magic Circle is inexpensive and versatile and can add a light or an intense addition to your alrady existing Pilates practice.

The magic circle is also called a Pilates Ring, a fitness circle and an exercise ring. The circle is typically made of soft pliable rubber about 13 inches in diameter and has pads on the sides.  The purpose of the circle is to use it as a resistance tool, it is not intended as a tool to see if you can crush it, as many people try to do.  Joseph Pilates was the first to use a magic circle and it is said he used the ring from a beer keg!  There’s a tip you probably didn’t know.
