Who stole your time? You woke up this morning with a bunch of hours to do what you needed to get done. By day's end, your basket - but not your to-do list - is empty. Consolidate errands. Tape shows. Focus on productivity.

1. Consolidate at least two errands per trip. Whenever you get in your car to run an errand, try to accomplish at least two to three errands in that one trip. For instance, on my way to the supermarket this morning, I dropped off some books at the library and I returned a dish from a recent potluck dinner held at my house. If I had to do this in three separate trips, I probably would have wasted more than an hour!

2. Tape your favorite prime time shows. Although we don't watch much TV in my house, there are a few shows that we do enjoy each week. Since they're on during prime time, we record them while we're doing other things. Last night, we taped a favorite program. While it was taping, I enjoyed some relaxing scrapbooking time while my husband organized the songs he plans to play on his guitar at our daughter's birthday party. Afterwards, we watched our program together. Since we were able to fast forward, we viewed without all the commercials--saving over 20 minutes!

3. Double up. Whenever I cook, I always prepare enough for at least two family meals. It hardly takes any extra time at all to double up ingredients. As soon as the meal is cooked, half of the portion goes in the fridge or the freezer and we eat it another night that week. By doing this, I only have to cook three days each week-- three meals doubled up takes care of 6 meals. And we eat out or order out on the 7th night !
