April  1  Today is April Fools Day - enjoy a bit of laughter today!

April  2  Clean the washing machine. Strange I know. You clean it by running an empty load on hot with a cup of chlorine bleach, also clean your dryer ducts. Prevent the possibility of home fires. Many home fires are caused by the accumulated lint in dryers.

April  3  Carry out a small outdoor chore you've been putting off today.

April  4  April showers are here again. Are you stocked with enough umbrellas for the season? Don't forget that you should have an umbrella not only in your entrance hall but in your car and office as well.

April  5  Toss out any junk mail cluttering your home. If you have a drawer dedicated to junk mail, it's time to weed out the useful from the expired.

April  6  Do something from tomorrows To Do list. This way you'll be ahead on your daily tasks.

April  7  Clear one surface today, regardless of whether it's your dining table or bedside table.

April  8  Collaborate with a neighbor and hold a garage sale. It'll help clear up space and earn you a little extra cash for your pocket.

April  9   Haven't started your spring cleaning yet? Why not divide the tasks by room with our handy room-by-room checklist?

April  10  Give your bathroom shower a good scrubbing today.

April  11  Double check your March calendar. Did your complete all your tasks and goals? Did you miss any appointments? If you have, spend a few minutes rescheduling them into this month’s calendar.

April  12  National Library Week begins today. Go down to your local library and check out 2 books for each of your family members.

April  13  Pick out five books or DVD's that you no longer have any use for and donate them to a local charity.

April  14  Use today to make an inventory of your summer gear and supplies. Do you have enough beach towels, bathing suits, flip flops and sunblock? Now that you know how much you have, you can determine if you need to go shopping to stock up on the summer essentials.

April  15  Today is tax deadline. If you haven't filed your taxes by now, you can still file for an extension that will give you up until October 15th to file. This extension however does not entitle you to an extended period to pay for interest or penalties you've failed to pay in by April 15th. Contact your local tax agent for more details or this handy resource.

April  16  Visit your local gardening center or nursery today for good starter seedlings or plants. With the right preparation, your garden will be ready for summer.

April  17
Pack and sort all your shoes into a rack or their cubby boxes. Wet boots and galoshes should have their own special basket.

April  18  Today is Pet Owners Day. Take your pet out to the dog park for some free play or a nice walk to enjoy the crisp spring weather.

April  19
Clear out the clutter in your car. Reorganize the glove box so that you have your license and registration at the ready.

April  20  Dust the windowsills and cornices in your home today.

April  21  Would you like butterflies in your garden this summer? Plant parsley and dill in your herb garden and you will be sure to attract them.

April  22
Today is Good Friday and the start of everything Easter, from egg hunts to making delicious hot-cross-buns. If this is a day you celebrate, use the morning to look over your checklist of preparations so that even the smallest details are not left to chance. Today is also Earth Day. Make one environmentally positive decision today. Recycle, buy a dimmer switch or drink out of a reusable water bottle.

April  23
Find a local Easter Egg Hunt in town and take the kids. If you can't find one, do one in your own backyard.

April  24  Happy Easter! Celebrate with your family and friends. Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is typically the most well-attended Sunday service of the year.

April  25  Organize your pantry today. Toss anything expired or donate any goods you are not likely to consume. Try to group according to association, for example place dry goods together and baking supplies in one location. The same would go for beverages and condiments. It'll save you time on those evenings where dinner prep is rushed.

April  26  Make your opinion count. Write a comment on your favorite blog or email the editor of your favorite newspaper.

April  27  Do you operate a business? Take the initiative today to follow up with 5 prospective clients and 5 previous customers - ask them what your business can do to help them further?.

April  28  Allocate some YOU time today. Perhaps have a bubble bath or even something as simple as an hour alone to read.

April  29  Set a timer today and spend 30 minutes clearing your office paper clutter.

April  30  Call a friend you haven't had a chance to get in touch with in a long time. Let them know that you are thinking of them and that they are missed.
