Stationary & InvitesAn Overview Of Optional Wedding Stationary Items
While they may be in the forefront of your mind, invitations are not the only wedding stationary items to think about. While not as important as invites you may to consider the following items.
Save the date cards are a way of letting your guests know the date of your wedding in advance. These should be sent out prior to invitations and they are a simple way of informing your guests that they should keep that time of their calendar free from other commitments. You will find that these cards are particularly useful for out of town guests who may have to travel. They can keep the day of your wedding and the days surrounding it free to allow them ample time to get to your location. The cards themselves can be quite casual items. A lot of people choose to send magnets as they can be attached to someone's refrigerator and stay in plain sight.
You may choose to include a response card along with your invitation. This will give your guests an opportunity to easily let you know whether they will be able to attend your wedding or not. They are quite simply to make. You can print a very basic card with just a few pieces of information including a space for their name, the response deadline, and an option of whether they can attend or not. They will simply have to fill in the blanks. You can add an envelope with your address on it or make the response card out of a postcard.
Menu cards can also make for a great addition to your invites. This will let you know what people will want to eat well in advance of the wedding date itself. This can be very useful as you will not order too much food and consequently save you a lot of money. Just be sure to order a few extra of each menu option as there will probably be some mix ups and a few of your guests may change their minds.
Ceremony programs are also handy stationary items. They are a fantastic way to let your guests feel like they are part of the ceremony itself. While not a requirement they can come in useful if you are having any special songs, wedding readings or any unusual traditions. You can explain a few of the details of your ceremony in the program to keep your guests informed on what is going on and what is still to come.
