Install ponds and waterfalls

Water courses such as waterfalls or still ponds can add peace and serenity to your design. The sound of running water is extremely soothing and relaxing, so if you can you should include this feature. An added touch is some aquatic plants and animals to complete the picture.

Make use of Gravels

When you use gravel and pebbles, especially in pathways or certain garden beds, you add to the natural feel of the garden. These can be purchased in many shapes, sizes and colors and are relatively inexpensive.

Use Organic as well as Inorganic Mulch

Mulch is a must for any garden that includes a fountain or some mini-ponds is important (which should be every garden!). As well as saving this precious resource, mulch assists in weed suppression and reduces soil erosion. For the best results, use both organic (that which decomposes) and inorganic (such as pebbles).
