Long Distance Relationships
There isn't much that is harder than being away from your partner, especially if it is for a long period of time. Long distance relationships can be difficult to maintain, but by no means impossible! If you find yourself separated from your lover for an extended amount of time, read on for some advice on how to make it work.

Communication is the key to any relationship, but especially so in a long distance one. If you are to survive the pain of being physically apart from each other for a long period of time, then you are going to have to make sure that you are in contact with each other regularly. Ideally, phone your partner once a day to catch up with them and let them know what has happened in your day. Up until recent times, this was the only way to keep in contact on a regular basis, however nowadays we have the added benefits of instant messaging, twitter, facebook, email, myspace and sms messaging. There are so many different ways to stay in contact that there is no reason not to keep the lines of communication open.

Another added bonus of these online communication tools is that not only can you chat, but you can play games with each other. Why not sit down of a night and share a game of online scrabble with your partner, or chess, or whatever game takes your fancy. If you are really adventurous, you can even escape with each other into a virtual world and do all sorts of weird and wonderful things with each other.

If all this technology is not really your thing, you can still share your hobbies and passions with each other with minimal effort using nothing more than snail mail. In fact, many people find it a lot more romantic to receive a love letter in the mail once a week than to receive a 5 word sms every day. As long as you are both sharing with each other, then end result is still a healthy relationship.

Finally, you need to always keep a positive attitude. It's easy to feel down when the one you love is so far away, but if you remind yourself every day that they love you and you love them, you will be able to smile and look on the bright side of your situation. Make sure you always nurture your trust, and talk honestly to each other about all aspects of your relationship.

Following these simple rules will help you to keep your love for each other alive. As long as you are always in touch with each other, sharing all your worries, beliefs and interests, and keeping a positive attitude, your love will stand the test of time and you will come through the other end as close to each other as you were the day you were separated.

And on that day, you will be able to look into your partners eyes and say Wow! I Love U and they will be able to honestly look back and say And I love you too.
